Jean Stolpestad

Jean Stolpestad is the current Director of Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota. Jean believes deeply in the truths of the Catholic Faith, and that when these truths are lived with humility and compassion, can inspire people to see their own inherent dignity, which once experienced, can draw others into relationship, ultimately allowing Christ’s name to be known and loved.

Jean and her husband Craig have lived the vocation of marriage for 41 years, raising a family of 3 sons while opening their home to foster children and the mentoring of other couples. The Stolpestads believe that Matrimony celebrated in the presence of God and the community, should also be witnessed, defended and supported as families grow. These strong passions fueled by prayer and the sacraments have been a source of perseverance in her 15+ year career in public and ecclesial institutions which address marriage, family and life, she directed programs, provided training to community leaders and assisted in developing successful strategies to reach husbands/fathers - wives/mothers with resources and practical means to thrive as a family. 

When she is not raising awareness of the fundamental good of marriage, Jean can be found kayaking on the river with one of her grandchildren, or participating in sportsman activities with her husband.
