Tell us a little bit about you and your family... where are you from? How did you hear about the Rule?

I am the youngest of eight, with four adopted siblings (a sister and three brothers) and three biological sisters. I was a surprise baby, with an eight-year gap between me and the sister above me! My family migrated from Malaysia to New Zealand before I was born, and I grew up in Auckland, NZ, where I still live today. This year, on the feast of St. John Paul II, my husband Locquahn and I will celebrate our third wedding anniversary. We got married on 22 October, 2022, which also marked 10 years since we first got together. A fun fact about us is that we share the exact same birthday and year —although it isn’t the same as the feast day! I first discovered The Rule when I watched Peter and Theresa on The Chris Stefanick Show in 2024. As soon as I finished the episode, I went out and bought the book! A good friend of ours also gifted us another copy on our 2nd anniversary. Earlier this year, Locq and I were thinking about how we needed to find a community that supported marriages and the need for married couple groups where couples can share their joys and struggles together. While looking on the WCI website after starting to read The Rule, I came across an upcoming Leader Couple Training which was going to start a few weeks later! We jumped at the chance to do it and were blessed to have Peter and Theresa as our mentor couple. And now, here I am, blessed to join the mission and serve on the team!

How has learning about JPII's Rule and being a part of the WCI impacted you and your marriage thus far?

Locq and I have been putting into practice what we learned through Leader Couple Training by praying together daily and dialoguing. We’ve both felt like we are growing our conjugal spirituality, especially with the challenges and changes that we’ve faced this past year as we discern where the Lord is calling us to. We’re also looking forward to starting our own married couple group someday soon, once we settle in!

What have you enjoyed most about your new role as Executive Assistant? What are you most excited about regarding your role?

I love working alongside Theresa, Peter, and the team, who are so passionate about the WCI mission. I especially enjoy connecting with leader couples and engaging with those who may not have heard much about the WCI yet, and answering questions. What excites me most is meeting people who share a love for JPII and for marriage. It is truly an honour to be part of this team.
